Coconut oil: the miracle anti-viral

Maintaining good health, or for some gaining back their health, while protecting against viruses, can’t get any easier than this.

For over 4,000 years coconut oil has been used in Ayurvedic medicine and it’s a top-notch germ fighter.

In the Philippines and Indonesia scientists have noted that consuming 1 tbsp of coconut oil daily decreased the viral load in COVID patients by up to 90%.

In fact, loads of anecdotal evidence of people using coconut oil and claiming a cure during the AIDS epidemic is the reason why authorities pushed ahead with current studies on coconut oil’s efficacy in killing the virus.

The miracle of coconut oil is no secret. A 1979 study in the journal Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy showed the antiviral activities of lauric acid and monolaurin are able to destroy lipid-coated viruses, like covid. When you consume coconut oil it releases anti-microbial agents lauric acid and monolaurin.

“The results are very promising, as not only does it show that the virgin coconut oil, by itself, can destroy the virus, but it also has a key mechanism in upregulating the immune response against COVID-19,” said Dr Jaime Montoya, executive director of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), in an October 2020 statement.

Research lipid-coated viruses and you’ll find everything from influenza, leukemia, pneumonia to measles and Epstein-Barr – all killed by lauric acid. On the bacteria front, you’ll discover yucky stuff like staph, strep and listeria all killed by lauric acid, according to the book: The Coconut Oil Miracle.
