Herbicide And Celiac Link

Scientists are now coming to understand why there’s been an explosion of celiac disease in the last few years, and suspect the same reason for an increase in autism.

Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found “strong correlations” between the use of glyphosate, the active ingredient in the herbicide Roundup, and the rise in chronic illnesses related to gut dysfunction.

Celiac is a severe reaction to gluten. Non-organic wheat crops are treated with glyphosate just prior to harvest to force the crops to release more seeds, researchers say. Corn and soy crops are also treated with Roundup. The glyphosate has been shown to severely damage gut flora, they say. Most processed foods contain wheat, which is why there has been such a rise in celiac disease, researchers conclude.

The researchers also found that glyphosate may act as a transporter of aluminum (found commonly in vaccines) to the brain, which explains the link to autism, researchers say.
